St. Joseph's National School, Dromore is situated near the village of Drimoleague, between Skibbereen and Bantry in the beautiful region of West Cork. The teaching staff consists of four classroom teachers, one S.E.N teacher, one cluster teacher, two special needs assistants, a secretary, a caretaker and a cleaner. At present there are 68 children enrolled.
There are three large classrooms, two special education classrooms, a kitchen, staff-room/multi-purpose room and an office. The school grounds are well-maintained and provide a safe & attractive environment for play and outdoor learning activities. There is a large pitch, a large basketball court and grass and tarmac playing areas. We have raised beds for growing vegetables and a wildlife garden to encourage biodiversity. The junior playground is marked with games and we have a wide range of PE equipment and playground toys.
The school day commences at 9:20am and finishes at 2pm for the infant classes and at 3pm* for all other classes. Please see the Policies sections to read or download our school policies and our absence forms.

Over the past few years, Dromore NS has enjoyed participating in many local opportunities. West Cork Debating, National Children's Choir, Sciath na Scol, rugby, hurling, swimming, aquathalon, chess tournaments, Port of Cork competition to name but a few! With variety and opportunity we endeavor to give students the foundation to bring their potential to life.
