We are coming towards the end of this term and what a busy term we have had. So far, the whole school has enjoyed Grandparents Day, St. Brigid's Day, Ukulele with Marc and Rugby with Geraldine.
Garda Brigid also visited the school.
The senior classes were involved in a soccer blitz in Bantry. The teams played really well and enjoyed themselves (it was very wet on the first day but the second day the weather was a bit more compliant). The middle room worked with the Uilinn Art Centre to create some fabulous art and are currently working with Maeve O'Donovan for the Junior Initiative Programme (I've heard they made paper pancakes!). Sciath na Scol training has commenced with Donal and the junior classes have started their swimming lessons at The Water School.
There have been Friendships Weeks and Wellness Wednesdays, Paddy the Postman came in for a chat with the junior room and the senior room spend time every week reading with the younger classes.
The junior room also has a Leap Day party. We played pin the tail on the donkey, played outside, had a dance and ate some delicious ice cream (with sprinkles and marshmallows!)
The Confirmation is next and we are celebrating World Book Day on the 14th of March. There will also be a show to celebrate St. Patricks Day - songs and stories about Ireland etc will be heard in the community I'm sure! And of course our annual Easter raffle is going ahead and the raffle itself will be held on Thursday 21st March.
